A two-day drive to the airport

An Arkansas couple was finishing up a safari in Cameroon and about to board their chartered flight to the capital, when the republic’s government grounded private aviation. That meant that the couple had to drive two days to reach the airport in Douala. Consequently, the couple missed their scheduled flight to Paris, their onward flight to Atlanta, and their third flight to Little Rock. In all, they lost $2,275 in charter airfare, $3,600 for the re-issued commercial flights, and $150 in incidentals. They submitted a claim for $6,025, and Ripcord reimbursed the couple for the full amount.
